HIRING - IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES, IT WAS THE WORST OF TIMES

This is my first blog ever.  I’m excited to have you visit.  Hiring…..it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  (I think George Lukas or one of his contemporaries originated that).

It was the best of times because when we get it right and we have hired a quality candidate we are on top of the world.  That new hire raises the organization’s tide.  All boats rise when they come on-board.  The dividends continue to pay out for years.   I’d like to talk about those dividends later, what are your thoughts?

It was the worst of times because when we or others get it wrong the “hire’s remorse” sets in almost immediately.  You know that sinking feeling that you have just entered the wrong on-ramp and the next exits isn’t for 20 miles.  You are stuck on the wrong road going 65mph in the wrong direction!   I’m interested in hearing about your adventures.
